In well figured cuban mahogany this side cabinet is perfect for books and display together in a country house library.Formerly with a small brass gallery to the top which could be replaced if required.

A small George 111 mahogany secretaire chest c 1775 in the style of Ince and Mayhew in three parts. The upper section a lift off book tray with fretwork sides, the middle section with a secretaire drawer and both the lower sections with carrying handles. The handles 18th c rococo chased brass and in the correct holes but not original.

A really rare early secretaire with an exceptionally rich colour and patination particularly unusual with its fretwork book trough on top.
