Description :
A late Georgian mahogany console table c 1830 in the early George 11 style of William Kent now painted white with a good late 18th c English white marble top the frieze with Vitruvian scroll over leaf carved cabriole legs and ball and claw feet. This stylish and well carved table is probably part of the revived interest in furniture in the 1830`s of nearly a century earlier by cabinetmakers such as Vile, Boson and Goodison made to the architectural designs of William Kent. Formerly with a wooden top as evident by the screw holes on the top of the frame. It has the classic features of late Georgian hand made construction rather than the machine cut work of the end of the 19th century.
The slightly earlier 18th c marble top has really good veining and matches well both in style and colour
