A mid 19th century lacewood open library bookcase c 1850 by Charles Norman of Richmond Yorkshire . Lacewood is the timber of the London Plane tree and is so called because of the flecking of the grain in the wood. This bookcase is of the finest quality and construction and has fully adjustable shelves top and bottom and is easily dismantled for easy moving and re erection.
The Norman family of Richmond Yorkshire supplied furniture to the Marquesses of Zetland at Aske Hall amongst other notable clients.
