A rare set of 6 Gothic Reform oak and leather chairs c 1875 by Gillow of Lancaster each stamped to the underside and some with the rare workmans mark for W Brumfitt.
These comfortable chairs are in good solid condition with turned legs and patent Collinson`s brass castors.
They retain their unusual leather strap work seats and backs in completely undamaged condition.
Susan Stuarts monumental 2 volume reference work on Gillows refers to William Brumfitt on page 96 of Volume One.
