In beautiful condition this unusual cupboard veneered on mahogany has an extremely rich colour and patination. It is rare to find a piece of furniture of this scale veneered in yew, a timber normally found on small tables, chests and boxes. Description :
A rare Charles 1 oak and marquetry coffer c 1630 in lovely crusty condition with well carved and impressive arcaded front on stile supports retaining the original spandrel brackets.
Apart from later hinges, an extra plank to the underside and a reinforced ( not replaced ) back left stile this coffer is in lovely original condition not even having had a wax. The only missing feature appears to be two moulds now long gone that would have run horizontally across the middle of the coffer above and below the arcaded carving. Traces of old nails can be seen in photo 2 below the keyhole.
A sophisticated Pre Civil War coffer this would have come from a wealthy household and would have been used to store prized family possessions.

A wonderful quality pair of early Victorian mahogany library bookcases c 1840 . The upper sections each with a pair of framed panel doors fitted flush and seemingly with no door openers. The upper doors are opened by secret brass catches under the shelve revealed when opening the lower sections. The shelves are all original in both sections and fully adjustable.
These bookcases are of the highest quality London cabinet making and are similar to furniture made by Wilson`s of Gt Queen St and Wilkinson`s of Ludgate Hill though neither of these bookcases bear makers stamps.
The patination and colour are beautifully rich and these bookcases would grace any library or drawing room.

A rare small Regency giltwood convex mirror c 1815 in completely untouched condition retaining its original silvered mirror plate and side candle brackets. This unusually small mirror with a plate diameter of only 11.5 ins has lovely original water gilding and an extra feature of bullrush ends to the top of the elaf carving at the sides. Rather than a ball the eagle has a patriotic acorn hanging from its beak.

A large Hoshiapur brass inlaid octagonal table c 1890.
The largest size table at 2ft across made by the Hoshiapur craftsman in Northern India this table is unusual being in brass and ebony rather than the usual bone. It retains the original makers label on the underside L Khanaya Lal Brij Lal Manafacturers of Ivory Brass woodwork Mooshiapur (sic).
It has a lovely warm patination to the top. Half of one lower spandrel replaced.

Description :
A rare George 111 mahogany partners desk dated c 1782. The business side with a fitted top drawer above three drawers to each pedestal with original brass swan neck handles- two back plates replaced.The reverse side fitted with three long drawers flanked by sides with re entrant cock beaded mouldings on a plinth base and inset brass castors for easy movement. The whole with a rich original patination and colour.
The desk separates by removing the top, the two main sections split and sit on the plinth section.
A really unusual and practical desk which is inscribed 1782 under the top and was probably made in Shrewsbury. During restoration various letter and papers dating from 1782 to the 1950`were found down the main body of the desk which refer to Shrewsbury.
