A Victorian amboyna Davenport c 1870 in wonderful original condition with original tooled green morocco leather to the fall. the interior veneered in birds eye maple with real drawers to the right side opposed by dummy drawers.
It is unusual to find a davenport veneered completely in amboyna an expensive wood that originates from the Andaman Islands and is normally used on boxes or in conjunction with other woods.

A small and rare William and Mary oyster veneered walnut and laburnum cross banded chest of two short and two long drawers c 1695 on later bun feet.
This small chest at 2ft 6ins wide has the most striking design of interlinked concentric rings flanked on the top by stylised heart motifs , The top two drawers are inlaid with prince of Wales feathers and the sides have a parquetry diamond design. It has a wonderful depth of colour and patination on all four visible surfaces
